One little pottery seagull looking for a new home.
I make these seagulls from stoneware clay. I start by making a hollow ball from two small handmade pots then add a head and feet. Once the seagull has had its first firing to 1000 degrees I then paint a range of glazes on to give the distinct seagull look and fire again to 1225 degrees.
This makes the final seagull ready to live both inside or out throughout the year.
Due to the handmade nature of the sculpture every seagull I make varies slightly in size and shape.
