A pair of little pottery hedgehogs, mother and baby are looking for a new home.
I make these hedgehogs from stoneware clay. I start by making a hollow ball from two small handmade pinch pots then add the hedgehog's head and defining features. Once the hedgehog has had its first firing to 1000 degrees I then paint a range of glazes on to give the distinct hedgehog look and fire again to 1225 degrees.
This makes the final hedgehog ready to live both inside or out throughout the year making it the perfect addition to any garden.
Due to the handmade nature of the sculpture every hedgehog I make varies slightly in size and shape.
This hedgehog is approximately 8.5cm high by 9.5cm long and 6.5cm wide.
