Firstly I have thrown this stoneware burner on the potters wheel then I have decorated this burner with carving and a process called sgraffito. I have layered coloured clay onto the burner then carved back into the different layers to give the piece a three dimensional finish. This makes a totally unique piece of art which is as beautiful as an ornament as when it is fulfilling its function as an oil burner.
